Music has always been my refuge—a place where I could process, escape, and find my voice when words alone weren’t enough. Some of these songs were born as far back as the fall of 2006, in the midst of my search for meaning, understanding, and belonging. When I first shared For the Lost and Broken in October 2008, I was just a college student at Eastern Nazarene College, grappling with identity in an environment where acceptance felt uncertain.
In January 2024, during another personal turning point, I found myself revisiting those original sessions—and let me tell you, it felt a lot like reheating my nachos: comfortingly familiar, yet somehow even more satisfying the second time around. Channel by channel, vocal take by vocal take, I re-examined every element through the lens of who I’ve become—and what emerged was more than a remaster. The lyrics have been largely left unchanged, but their meaning has evolved into bold declarations of resilience, growth, and reclamation.
I’m thrilled to share For the Lost and Broken (2025) with you on June 6th, both digitally and on vinyl. Its arrival during Pride Month is intentional: in today’s political climate—where queer narratives are still too often silenced—our stories matter more than ever. Let’s celebrate the power of sharing our truths, honoring how far we’ve come, and lifting one another up as we push toward the world we deserve.
